A guy of her own? She’s not holding her breath—until he steals it away.
Vegas Nights, Book 3
Natalie’s girls-only weekend in Vegas is shot to hell, thanks to her friends ditching her for very sexy, very famous guys. Not that she blames them. She knows what lonely feels like. A nurse’s long hours leave little time for a social
Then she collides with and spills her drink all over a very fine, very exposed male chest. A chest belonging to Noah Wilde, lead singer for the infamous Wilde & Wicked rock band. Thankfully, he’s merely amused as she tries to take care of the mess she made.
Noah sure would like to make a mess of the gorgeous, petite lady with luminous blue eyes. There’s no resisting the urge to tempt her along for an adventurous night of gambling, drinking, eating, and sin.
But during the harsh light of day, Noah has a change of heart. Not about the fact he likes Natalie—a lot. He’s not sure he wants to drag this sweet lady through his sordid life. Even though sparing her could cost them both a chance at forever.
Warning: Contains a nurse who thought she knew all there was to know about anatomy, and a rock god who’s about to show her a few spots she missed. To say they both hit the jackpot would be an understatement.

Review: Teasing the Boss by Mallory Crowe

Teasing the Boss (Billionaires in the City #2)

Premier business consultant Simon West can turn around any struggling billion dollar corporation in New York City, but he can’t get what he wants most: revenge against Mark DuFord. The slick investment banker's shady dealing led to Simon’s best friend’s suicide. Wealthy, and well-protected by the political influence he’s been able to purchase, DuFord has become untouchable—or so he thinks. But when DuFord’s former girlfriend asks Simon for help, he knows that Grace Bell is the weapon he needs to finally destroy his enemy completely. All Simon has to do is pretend to love her.

Grace Bell knows that approaching hot-shot Simon West to save her business is a long shot, but she’s desperate. After growing up with a family that expected her to be a happy housewife, she’d proved them all wrong when she became the go-to event-coordinator in New York City. But after the tabloids took a completely innocent picture of her with a married senator and misinterpreted the situation, she’s losing clients left and right. When she approaches Simon and begs for his help to resuscitate the business she put her heart and soul into, she never expects him to agree. Or that the payment would be posing as his lover as an excuse to get close to her ex.

Simon knows if he goes forward with his plan, it's only a matter of time before Mark realizes what they're up to and Mark’s enemies have a way ending up broke, in jail or six feet under. As Simon and Grace grow closer, Simon must decide if putting her in the line of fire is worth avenging the past.

Mallory Crowe
Q – What makes Simon and Grace different from the other couples in the Billionaires In The City series?

A – As I’ve said in the past, my I adore the power struggles between April and Sam from Teaching the Boss. She starts out below him and through the story, their roles shift. With Simon and Grace, they both start out on pretty equal footing. She doesn’t have his kind of money, but they’re both successful entrepreneurs who aren’t used to asking for help. So when they both have to depend on one another, the results are electric!

Q - Why should readers give these books a try?

A – All I can say is that I LOVED writing them and I think readers will really be drawn into the characters. I adore putting two strong leads into tough situations and seeing them work together to grow.
For this second book in the series, I took an obsessed billionaire and a savy business owner and made sure they both needed each other to reach their goals. To make it even more fun, I added in a major revenge plot and a trip to the Hamptons!

Q – Why did you choose to set the Billionaires In The City books New York City?

A – Because it’s the city of endless possibilities! There are so many fantastic different settings to play with, between the Upper East Side, Soho, Brooklyn and Queens. They’re all so close together and each have distinct personalities that can fit the characters perfectly. But, as much as I love NYC, I’d love to branch out in the future, so I made sure I didn’t name the city in the subtitle.

REVIEW
3 STARS

I received a copy from the publisher, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.

I read the second in the series almost immediately after finishing the first and I enjoyed it significantly more. Although I liked Simon more then Sam, Grace got on my nerves a couple times. Also, the writing was hard to understand at times because the author would switch from one character to the other's point of view. It wasn't in the first person but it still was difficult to understand and I found myself having to read over a page more then once to understand whom the author was referring.

Grace was the heroine and she had her company going into the ground because of some sleaze senator. I was slightly annoyed at Grace's reaction to it all when it went down, but was happy to see her go after Simon for help. I enjoyed seeing Grace and Simon's relationship grow and become something more. Although I feel their relationship could use a little more build to it, I liked how they cared for one another.

Simon's character I really liked in the beginning, however near the end, he got on my nerves a little because he cared so much for Grace that it felt a little fake.

Like I said, I enjoyed the second much better then the first and if your debating whether or not to read the second, give it a shot.

Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid **REVIEW TOUR**

MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE
By Taylor Jenkins Reid

Is everyone in agreement that this cover is GORGEOUS?!

ABOUT MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE:
At the age of twenty-nine, Hannah Martin still has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She has lived in six different cities and held countless meaningless jobs since graduating college, but on the heels of a disastrous breakup, she has finally returned to her hometown of Los Angeles. To celebrate her first night back, her best friend, Gabby, takes Hannah out to a bar—where she meets up with her high school boyfriend, Ethan.

It’s just past midnight when Gabby asks Hannah if she’s ready to go. Ethan quickly offers to give her a ride later if she wants to stay.
Hannah hesitates.
What happens if she leaves with Gabby?
What happens if she leaves with Ethan?

In concurrent storylines, Hannah lives out the effects of each decision. Quickly, these parallel universes develop into surprisingly different stories with far-reaching consequences for Hannah and the people around her, raising questions like: Is anything meant to be? How much in our life is determined by chance? And perhaps most compellingly: Is there such a thing as a soul mate?
Hannah believes there is. And, in both worlds, she believes she’s found him.

REVIEW
4 Stars

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This was something else. I've never read a book with parallel universes, and the only movie I've seen with parallel universes is Sliding Doors. But this book was a good one. I've never read a book by this author before, but I really enjoyed it and plan on keeping an eye on Ms. Taylor Jenkins Reid because I loved it. I will admit I was slightly disappointed at the ending because of the similarities that I feel may of been much different, but nonetheless, I enjoyed it enough.

I really enjoyed the concepts of one life and another. It's so interesting to read and really see it unravel because it's different from watching it on TV. In books you can really feel the emotion and heartbreak that the character is feeling because of their single choice. In this book, it was either go home with Gabby or Ethan. Each led to a different life.

Hannah was one of my favourite character's to read in a book. And the sole reason for that is because she represents so many people out there. Unknowing of what they want to do, unknowing if their life really will be okay. Hannah didn't know, and at twenty nine, everyone thinks she has herself together. In reality, she's a mess jumping from state to state, and I really liked that. Even though the protagonist was on the older side from what I usually read, I still really enjoyed her because she was still self-discovering.

I liked that the author didn't make the two different suitors in Hannah's life the same, or one-dimensional. She made them each different and like-able and it really is hard for the reader to just say they like one or the other.

I really enjoy the author's writing style; it's very compelling and even when my eyes were sore and I was exhausted, I couldn't put down the book. Even when I did, I was thinking about it. It was, and will always be, an unforgettable read.

Review: Teaching the Boss by Mallory Crowe

Teaching the Boss
Book 1 in the "Billionaires in the City" series

Business-school student April Morgan is ready to graduate--from school, from the secretary pool, and from never-gonna-happen fantasies involving Sam Hunt, her hunky billionaire boss. But when Sam’s girlfriend of the week pushes her too far, April finds herself quitting on the spot with only a mountain of student loan debt to keep her company. In steps Sam’s worst enemy, his father, with a job offer she can't refuse.

Sam was born into privilege, but refused to live life with a silver spoon in his mouth. After a decade of hard work, he’s on the verge of taking his business public and proving to his tyrannical family that he can make it without their help. When he finds out that April is working for his father, he knows she’s been turned into a pawn in his father’s twisted games.

Despite Sam’s warnings, April is determined to prove she doesn’t need him to make in New York City. But when she finds documents that could lead to Sam losing everything he’s worked for, April realizes that she and Sam have to work together to save the empire they’ve both worked to build.

Mallory Crowe
Q – What inspired you to write April and Sam’s story?

A – When I first thought of April and Sam, I was working crazy long hours at the time and (strangely enough) a slowed down cover of a rap song made me think of an overworked assistant who starts out totally in love with her Tycoon boss and, by the end of the song, she’s disillusioned by the lifestyle and is ready to branch out on her own.

Teaching The Boss starts after this music video I made in my mind. April is just coming into her own and Sam doesn’t really realize how much he needs her until she is gone. And then the billionaire has to bargain to get her back. The shifting power play between the two was a blast to write!

Q - Why should readers give these books a try?

A – All I can say is that I LOVED writing them and I think readers will really be drawn into the characters. I adore putting two strong leads into tough situations and seeing them work together to grow. For this first book in the series, I took the quintessential office romance, an untamed billionaire and a sexy secretary, and then completely shook up the power structure between the two and saw how they reacted. Throw in a few secrets and revenge plots and the result is explosive….

Q – Why did you choose to set the Billionaires In The City books New York City?

A – Because it’s the city of endless possibilities! There are so many different fantastic settings to play with, between the Upper East Side, Soho, Brooklyn and Queens. They’re all so close together and each have distinct personalities that can fit the characters perfectly. But, as much as I love NYC, I’m planning to branch out in the future, so I made sure I didn’t name the city in the subtitle. In book two, the Simon and Grace even take a trip to the Hamptons where they can get into even more trouble!

REVIEW
2 stars

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review through Netgalley.

I became interested in this book through the intriguing cover. It wasn't a bad read, the author did a decent enough job to keep the reader interested. However, I felt the book was lacking something about half way through. From then on, the book wasn't as interesting.

I liked the characters, and enjoyed the banter between Sam and April. I did get really annoyed by how they went from happy couple to hating each other and breaking up. I get very frustrated when authors make the characters break up because it feels as if they need some sort of drama in the book.

I often got confused on whose point of view it was because there was no indication, no big name highlighted at the top of the chapter. Just when I thought the chapters went back and forth between the characters, two chapters would be from the same characters, or half way through a chapter it would switch point of view.

I really enjoyed the ending, April's graduation. I can't say that it would happen in real life but it was be amazing if it did. The authors story was interesting enough and the book is short, making it a fast and easy read. I'm excited for the second book, being Simon's book, which is very exciting.

Except dying in Dublin.  Had it not been for the bravery of a stranger, she might have. But he takes off before she has the chance to offer her gratitude.

Twenty-four-year-old River Delaney is rattled. No one was supposed to get hurt. But then that American tourist showed up. When the American girl tracks River down, he quickly realizes how much he likes her, how wrong she is for him.  And how dangerous it is to have her around. Chasing her off would be the smart move.
