Review: Scorched (Frigid #2) by J. Lynn

Scorched by J. Lynn

Sometimes life leaves a mark…

Most days, Andrea doesn’t know whether she wants to kiss Tanner or punch him in the gut. He is seriously hot, with legit bedroom eyes and that firefighter body of his, but he’s a major player, and they can’t get along for more than a handful of minutes. Until now.

Tanner knows he and Andrea have had an epic love/hate relationship for as long as he can remember, but he wants more love than hate from her. He wants her. Now. Tomorrow. But the more he gets to know her, the more it becomes obvious that Andrea has a problem. She’s teetering on the edge and every time he tries to catch her, she slips through his fingers.

Andrea’s life is spiraling out of control, and it doesn’t matter that Tanner wants to save her, because when everything falls apart and she’s speeding toward rock bottom, only she can save herself.

Sometimes life makes you work for that happily ever after…

I honestly can't say that I quite tell you how I felt about this book. First off, I thoughtthat I liked Tanner better, I really did. I mean, he's attractive and is a fireman. But then every single time I heard Kyler I just wished I was reading about him. However, I feel that I did enjoy this book better then Frigid because of the content. It felt more real life, more relatable. It dealt with real life problems, such as drinking and driving, and anxiety. But why did Tanner and Andrea have to be all good together, you know going at it in a freaking pool, and then all of a sudden being chumps sitting across the room from one another. It was annoying.

And don't even get me started on Andrea. I loved the parts of her that made her real, relatable. She was worried about her weight and wasn't 90 pounds! She was actually large which is much better then hearing about skinny girls "problems" of being "fat".

But come on! Girls, girls, girls! Stop over analyzing everything! Andrea would take one thing Tanner said and analyze and analyze until it was rubbed raw and I just grew bored.

Like I said, I did enjoy this more then Frigid because of it's more realistic touch, but I was disappointed. It fell flat to my expectations and unfortunately I over-hyped the book before release.

  1. I felt the same exact way! Whenever I saw Sydney or Kyler's name I just wanted to read more about them! Haha. I actually liked Frigid way more than Scorched, but it might have just been because it was my first ever New Adult book!

    1. Really? Congrats, it's probably one of the better ones to be a first new adult cause it's not TO intense :)
