Review: Half-Blood (Covenant #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)Title: Half-Blood
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Pages: 281
Release Date: October 18th 2011
Series: Covenant #1
Where I Got It: Amazon
Info: The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and half's are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Review Time

I read Half-Blood (Covenant #1) on April 24th, 2013.

I was very surprised with this book. I was expecting it to be more like The Lux Series, but it was not.
To me, it seemed to swear a lot more than the Lux Series, but I know that it probably didn't. I just have many feelings about this book...

It was a book that made me hot n cold.

Either way, I enjoyed the book. Aiden was definitely not my favourite guy, though. It isn't that I'm not TEAM AIDEN or anything, but in this first book, I don't know he just didn't do it for me. Alexandria seemed very cocky and rude, as well, but that is what made her her. This book was written well and makes you happy and sad at the same time! Can't wait for the next book: PureI recommend this book to any readers of the Lux Series or someone looking for a paranormal romance.
