Hey ya'll! I really am not liking the end of the year right now. I'm in a total slump and just need to read 6 more books! 6! That's all... and I have one day left.
Over the course of this read-a-thon, I haven't read any books because I started this new awesome show that my brother showed me. It's called Death Note... and that's beside the point.
I wish I read more but I didn't. However, I started a few books.
Losing It by Cora Cormack
Walking Dead #15 by Robert Kirkman
Burned by Ellen Hopkins
Actually, I did read a book, if a short story counts. I had to read a few for school, and i guess that counts, right?
Crush by Nicole Williams was my definite favourite book this year (other than Twisted Perfection). I loved the story and how in this final installment of the Crash series, we see Lucy and Jude all grown up.
Twisted Perfection was great. I loved Woods and Della together and adored their story. I'd read Abbi Glines first in 2012, but didn't read her again until 2013 and have read all of her other books except for her Existence series. I loved this one just as much as her others and more.
2. Worst Book of 2013
I hated this book. I understand that people do this and it needs to be known but I didn't want to read all that stuff. And it was very obvious their relationship was nothing but physical. This book has ruined countless books for me and I just wish I could un-read it.
3. Favourite New Author
Nicole Williams - AKA the author of all these amazing books I read this year. That includes Crush from above, and the Lost & Found series.
4. Book that surprised you
Fallen Too Far definitely surprised me, but in a great way! I loved this book and can not wait to read more Rush! I just found this book different from Abbi's other books and series.
5. Book that disappointed you
I loved Simone's other series, Perfect Chemistry... well I liked Perfect Chemistry. I didn't like Rules of Attraction much, but I liked it better than this one. I love football (playing not watching) and I understand that it might be hard for Ashtyn, but, I mean come on she isn't gonna be the ONLY girl in the sport. I just expected this book to be different.
Today's challenge for the Last Minute Read-a-thon is the Love It or Hate It challenge.
We pick covers who love and hate and explain why.
Book Covers I Love
I love this cover because it has a quiet, kind of country feel to it. The heart because they are in love and the key for the secret between them.
I like how this book is about how people become obsessed with digital stuff, and on the sides of the container is pixels.
I love this entire series of covers. I love how they all have a type of colour and how it shows their faces. Generally I hate when peoples faces are on books, but I love this one.
I absolutely love this cover. So gorgeous. It is probably one of my favourite's of the year. The heart with prickles makes perfect sense. Although I've never been in love, I know it is hard and can be loving yet hard.
Book Covers I Hate
Actually I love this cover, but I hate the pink tinge to it. It makes "Drew" look weird what with the pinkish face and how it also looks as if hes wearing makeup. I also don't like how their mouths are open. I know people do that and stuff, but it looks awkward here.
I do not like this cover. I wish that it was like them inside snugglingon their make shift bed and maybe a black figure lingering in the window. I just don't like how his shirt is open or how "Sydney" looks in the picture.
I just do not like this cover. It has nothing to do with the book and am not a huge fan of covers where it shows half the face (except for Abbi Glines books).
For this read-a-thon, I have not finished much. I have hardly read, but my goals are still my goals. I'm still going to try to finish them by the time of the 30th.
Today is the rainbow challenge where we take books from our shelves that and put them together. They must be in order of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Today I have my stack. It was very hard to find an orange book but I finally resorted to Pretty Little Liars, which has almost every color.
Today is the start of the Last Minute Read-a-thon hosted by Vonnie's Reading Corner and A Night Dream of Books. Today is the first challenge. I share what I'm hoping to get through over the next five days.
I was suppose to do this post on Christmas Eve, but I was very busy with wrapping and stuff, so I apologize for that. I'm doing the post now. Hosted by: Lovin Los Libros, Starbucks & Books Obsession, and Readers Live A Thousand Lives Jude Ryder is from the CRASH series by Nicole Williams.
Ever since I read CRASH I've had a serious fixation on Jude Ryder. He has it all. He's hot, funny, sweet, romantic, steamy... okay he just has it all. And all the while he just want Lucy Larson to be happy. He outdoes himself as you read on.
Jude is the only one who calls Lucy Luce. I just love that he calls her something no one calls her. That's the only thing he calls her, unless he is completely and utterly upset or broken, then he'll call her Lucy.
Quotes
~1~
“I’ll be here, each day and every day on, as long as you want me to be.”
~2~
“The name’s Jude Ryder, since I know you’re all but salivating like a rabid dog to know, and I don’t do girlfriends, relationships, flowers or regular phone calls. If that works for you, I think we could work out something special.”
~3~
“I’m cancer, Luce. And not the kind that you can kill off with radiation. The kind that kills you in the end.”
~4~
“I’m his girlfriend?” It was meant to be a question to myself, but Taylor couldn’t let it go unanswered.
“You’re the first,” she said, looking at me like I was a puzzle. “You lucky bitch.”
~5~
“And I’m sorry I ruined everything we had before I could admit it to you. Before I could admit it to myself. You didn’t make me a better person, because no one can do that. You made me want to be a better person.”
Not convinced? Then go read CRASH and, believe me you'll be begging for your very own Jude Ryder.
I fell in love with Jude Ryder the first time I read about him on the beach, and that was in June 2013. I still talk about him to this very day and remember the CRASH series like I just finished them.
Merry Christmas everyone! I just need everyone to know that I'm not gonna be posting everyday from now until the end of January. I'm going to be very busy, but I will be participating in the End of the Year Read-a-thon, but I am traveling in January and am getting back in the end of January so I may not be writing as much, but I will try to post once at least everyday. So Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and have a great holiday everyone!

Simone Elkeles Simone Elkeles is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of novels for teens. Simone’s books have won many awards including being YALSA Top Ten Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers, being named to the YALSA Popular Paperbacks and Teens Top Ten lists, and added to the Illinois “Read for a Lifetime” Reading List. Simone also won the coveted RITA award from the Romance Writers of America for her book Perfect Chemistry. Simone is especially proud of the fact that the Illinois Association of Teachers of English named her Author of the Year.
Simone was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, where she still lives today. Simone went to the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and received her Bachelor’s of Science there in Psychology in 1992. She continued her education at Loyola University-Chicago where she received her Master’s of Science degree in Industrial Relations while working for a manufacturing company creating diversity programs for their employees.
She loves animals (she has two dogs – a labradoodle and a German Shepherd), kids (she also has two of those) and her family. In her spare time she’s the Hockey Mom for her kids hockey teams and is an active Girl Scout leader specially trained in outdoor education. She also spends time mentoring other teen and adult authors. (She also loves sushi, which you can probably tell by reading her books.) Simone writes about teens because she was a teen in the 80’s (when spiked hair and blue eye shadow were “rad”) and she loves writing about those exciting teen relationships and romances.
Review
I read this book on October 12th 2013.
Simone Elkeles writes a book about secrets, care and love.
I have many emotions about this book. I know that Simone Elkeles made a "show" on the book (it was actually a prequel to the book) but I didn't watch it. I thought that it was personally stupid to make a show and also, I didn't want to ruin my image of the characters. But, the book was written very well and it had good character development. I still had trouble imagining them because it didn't describe them overly because they often just said "she looked sexy" or "he looked like a thug." It focused so much on the characters Ashtyn and Derek that sometimes it felt as if there was no one else int he book, but it isn't one of those books with no characters but the two main ones. It was a sweet book and Derek was nice and my usual favourite bad boy type but I didn't fall head over heels. He isn't swoon-worthy honestly, for myself. Ashtyn one the other hand reminded me of myself in some ways and in other ways she was completely the oppsoite. It was just difficult to actually figure out who Ashtyn was. But, even though I gave the book 2 stars, it was still really sweet and I wanted to jump up and down at some of the stuff Derek did for Ashtyn. Now, I'm just asking, but did anyone else find it weird that Ashtyn was Derek's step-aunt? I recommend this book for readers who enjoy a chick-lit contemporary romance. Like, if you like contemporary romance, go buy this book now. It is definitely worth the read if you like romance.

Title: Frigid Author: J. Lynn Publisher: Spencer Hill Contemporary Pages: 260 Release Date: November 5th 2013 (July 15th 2103) Series: - Where I Got It: Birthday Gift Synopsis:For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love. Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.
But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.
# 1 New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Jennifer L. Armentrout Lives in West Virginia.
All the rumors you heard about her state aren’t true.
Well, mostly. When she's not hard at work writing, she spends her time, reading, working out, watching zombie movies, and pretending to write.
Review
I finished this book on December 22nd 2013.
J. Lynn writes an adorable and desirable book with just the right amount of hot and cold! Frigid is about two friends that have had feelings for each other for years but don't give in to the attraction because it could "ruin their friendship". Sydney seemed very fragile and would cry very easily. I am not a crier and just wanted to roll my eyes when she cried so much, but at the same time I loved how emotional she was. She wasn't worried about what people would think about her if they saw her cry. Kyler was exactly as the synopsis described him - a man whore. But he would obviously change for her. I'm asking out of curiosity, do guys actually change their ways for girls? I've never met one who did. But I'm hoping there are guys like that out in the world. The two main characters went together perfectly because everything Sydney lacked, Kyler excelled in. They just complimented each other. I think with the stalker part of the book, it was just the cherry on top. It made the book that much more appealing and I loved that. Although for me the stalker was easy to identify, I enjoyed the fighting scene. I disliked how easily Sydney could just forgive Kyler but also how easily she thought he would do something to her. Kyler obviously had his faults as well, but he was kind of hot so that makes up for that. I recommend this to New Adult fans. It has the right amount of romance and suspense.
